Each year I write a holiday poem. I hope with each poem to touch the sense of wonder and magic in the season. I hope with each poem to offer a moment to reflect, to find a comforting stillness of spirit. I hope with each poem that we are reminded of the many gifts of love and compassion in our lives.
This year’s poem is sent out to you with sincere hopes for your health, happiness, and comfort, now, and in the year ahead.
The winter wind draws in upon itself,
Becoming a gentle breeze,
Brushing each cheek in a greeting
Infused with joie de vivre.
We know soul-deep,
Things wonderful,
Great and small,
Wait for us.
The season reminds us,
That Love Incarnate
Walks beside us
And dwells within us.
We remain determined to make the season bright.
To hold high our solitary candle.
Once and again we remember all the times past.
Our invincible hope infuses the holidays
As we send out
Our greetings
Our simple prayers
Our heart-felt wishes
With words that embrace and offer
“Sanctuary and Light.”
“Peace and Good.”
May this season be for you a time of
Sanctuary and Light* Peace and Good**
